ISASA VACANCIES FOR UNEMPLOYED TEACHERS AT VARIOUS SCHOOLS

WHAT IS ISASA?

The Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) is the largest and oldest association of independent (private) schools in the Southern African region. ISASA traces its roots back to the Conference of Headmasters and Headmistresses, which was originally formed in 1929.

ISASA has more than 870 school members across Southern Africa. The schools have over 200,000 learners attending ISASA-affiliated schools. As a non-profit, schools choose to apply for ISASA membership. Each member school pays an annual subscription fee, and in return, ISASA provides a variety of services.

It is important to note that ISASA does not own or manage any individual schools and is not a governing body for private schools. ISASA’s vision is for a Southern Africa where quality education is accessible to all learners.

WHY CHOOSE ISASA SCHOOLS?

The ISASA brand is synonymous with high standards of educational and ethical practices, characterized by Quality, Values, and Diversity. Membership conditions are rigorous, including on-site inspections and adherence to a code of ethical practice.

Quality: Regardless of its type or fee level, an ISASA member school has been quality assured before acceptance into ISASA and is re-evaluated every six years by the Office.

Values: ISASA schools maintain a strong values base, offering sound discipline within a structured learning environment where pupils learn the importance of hard work, personal responsibility, and shared norms. Ethical education, community service, and responsible citizenship are promoted within ISASA schools.

Diversity: ISASA’s diverse membership provides parents with a wide range of choices, including schools that represent all phases from pre-primary to post-matric. These schools include religious and secular, traditional and alternative, day and boarding, single-sex and co-educational, rural and urban, large and small, local and international, and old and new institutions.

Affordability: The wide range of fee levels among ISASA schools makes them accessible to many families.
