PARKS LEISURE AND CEMETERIES GRAVE DIGGER APPLICATIONS

Purpose of the Job

To prepare graves for burials and exhumations and maintain cemetery grounds and facilities in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

Key Responsibility Areas

Prepares for the days work ensuring that tools, materials and equipment are provided and are
in a good working order.
Marks and prepares allocated grave sites and niches for burials.
Undertakes reburials, recycling and exhumations.
Use small plant and equipment to aintains cemetery grounds and infrastructure.
Maintains allocated small plant and equipment in a clean and functional condition.
Assists patrons and visitors.

Essential Requirements

An appropriate level of primary education.
Certificate of proficiency in the operation of small plant e.g. brush cutters/ ride on mowers or obtainable within 3 months of assumption of duties.

Preferred Requirements

An appropriate level of secondary education.
