REQUIREMENTS:
Baseline:
- NQF Level 4/ Matric
- Code B driver’s license
- Minimum 3 years Operational Experience
Advantageous:
- Level 3 First Aid
- Advanced Petrochemical Fire Training
- Code C Drivers Licence
- Satisfy Engen Fire Department Physical Fitness, Fire Department Driver Assessments and Fire Department Medical Requirements.
- Submit to the Claustrophobia assessment and pass the test.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
EMERGENCY INCIDENT RESPONSE MANAGEMENT
- Implement SOPs to ensure that incidents are efficiently and effectively mitigated.
- Ensure that asset damage is minimized
- Proactively reduce the number of emergency incidents and ensure life safety is prioritized
- Utilize appropriate tactics, under supervision, to ensure life safety prioritized
FIRE PREVENTION & PROTECTION SERVICES
- Support Fire Safety Inspections
- Support the assurance of compliance through application of operating standards and appropriate procedures
- Conduct RPD/ Fire Equipment training after internal competence training and certification
EQUIPMENT INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE
- Ensure compliance by supporting fire equipment inspection/ maintenance is scheduled as planned
- Provide support to ensure all relevant equipment and vehicles are fully available and operational at all times
- Provide assistance with pre-activity startup reviews for fire equipment
- Support the maintenance of SANS 1475 certification.
- Support compliance with relevant legislative requirements
- Safeguard effective preparations for emergencies by ensuring that all relevant equipment and vehicles are always fully available and operational
